Your place or mine?

English expression – a place for everything and everything in its place

The English language has a lot of vocabulary that can be used in different situations with a variety of meanings. When you look for a translation in your own language you must be very careful to look at the context of the word.

The word PLACE can have a lot of different meanings.

A place can be somewhere to put something:

A garage is a place where we can keep our car

A wardrobe is a place where we can hang our clothes

This is why our mothers always tell us that we should:

have a place for everything and put everything in its place

A place can be your house:

  • – Why don’t we watch a DVD and practise our English?
  • – Good idea! Your place or mine?
